SYDNEY CITY TOUR & SYDNEY SHOWBOAT CRUISE:
SYDNEY CITY TOUR:
City tour to visit the Rocks, Sydney Opera house, Sydney harbour bridge, Sydney Aquarium, Sydney Entertainment centre
Sydney Opera House:
Sydney Opera House (1957 - 1973) is a masterpiece of late modern architecture. It is admired internationally and proudly treasured by the people of Australia. It was created by a young architect who understood and recognised the potential provided by the site against the stunning backdrop of Sydney Harbour. Denmark’s Jørn Utzon gave Australia a challenging, graceful piece of urban sculpture in patterned tiles, glistening in the sunlight and invitingly aglow at night. Jorn Utzon died in Copenhagen in November 2008 aged 90. In its short lifetime, Sydney Opera House has earned a reputation as a world-class performing arts centre and become a symbol of both Sydney and the Australian nation.
Sydney Habour Bridge:
The Sydney Harbour Bridge is a steel through arch bridge across Sydney Harbour that carries rail, vehicular and pedestrian traffic between the Sydney central business district (CBD) and the North Shore. The dramatic view of the bridge, the harbour, and the nearby Sydney Opera House is an iconic image of both Sydney and Australia. The bridge is locally nicknamed "The Coat Hanger" because of its arch-based design.
Sydney Entertainment Centre:
The Sydney Entertainment Centre is an entertainment venue located in Haymarket, Sydney, Australia. It opened in May 1983 to replace the Sydney Stadium, which had been demolished to make way for a new railway. The centre is currently owned by the Sydney Harbour Foreshore Authority, which administers the neighbouring Darling Harbour area, and managed under a lease. It is one of Sydney`s larger concert venues, accommodating 12,000 people as a conventional theatre or 8,000 as a theatre-in-the-round. It is averaging an attendance of 1 million people each year. It hosts concerts, family shows, sporting events and corporate events.
Sydney Aquarium:
Sydney Aquarium is a public aquarium located in the city of Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. It is located on the eastern (city) side of Darling Harbour to the north of the Pyrmont Bridge. The aquarium contains a large variety of Australian aquatic life, displaying more than 650 species comprising more than 6,000 individual fish and other sea and water creatures from most of Australia`s water habitats. Its key exhibits are a series of underwater, see-through, acrylic glass tunnels where sharks swim above visitors, and recreation of a Great Barrier Reef coral environment.
